Drive to Alexandria, visit the Catacombs, Roman Amphitheatre, Pompey's Pillar, Qaitbay Citadel, back to Cairo

Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa
Our day starts with breakfast in your hotel, followed by a drive in your private air-conditioned vehicle, to The Pearl of the Mediterranean Sea, Alexandria (approximately 3 hours’ drive). Your visit to this beautiful city, originally built by Alexander the Great, includes a trip to The Catacombs (Kom el Shoqafa), where the early Christians were buried.

Pompey's Pillar
Visit Pompey's Pillar, the biggest memorial column in Egypt, made of red granite and standing about 28 meters high, with a base diameter of 2.7 meters.

Citadel of Qaitbay
Visit the Citadel of Qaitbay, where about 1480 AD the Mameluke Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay fortified the site, which held the ruins of the Alexandria Lighthouse, and with successive improvements, it now stands as a very prominent Citadel on the Mediterranean coastline. At the end of the day, you will be driven back to Cairo.

Flight to Aswan, Visit Aswan Sightseeing (High Dam, Philae Temple), Check in at (5 star) Standard Nile Cruise

Aswan High Dam
After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and our representative will escort you to the airport for your flight to Aswan (1 hour). Upon arrival, you will be met and assisted by our representative, who will transfer you to your cruise boat: your floating hotel for your next 3 nights. You will be driven to see The High Dam, the world's largest rock-filled dam.

Nile Cruise: Kom Ombo Temple

Temple of Kom Ombo
After enjoying your Lunch on board, you will sail from Aswan to Kom Ombo City. Visit the unique twin Temple dedicated to Sobek, the Crocodile God, and Horus the Elder. The site includes fascinating medical reliefs and a small museum displaying mummified crocodiles.

Nile Cruise: Edfu Temples, Luxor Temple

Temple of Horus
Ride by horse carriage to the Temple of Horus, the best-preserved temple in Egypt. Its origins likely date back to the Second Intermediate Period, but the actual Temple only dates back to Ptolemaic times. The construction work began during the reign of Ptolemy III (about 237 BC) and was finished during the reign of Ptolemy IV. Some other additions were made by other Ptolemaic Kings and the Roman Emperor Augustus. The temple's construction, in addition to its additions, inscriptions, and reliefs took about 180 years.

Luxor Temple
Visit Luxor Temple, which is located in the heart of the city and was not built-in adoration to a god figure of the kings and pharaohs, but was built in dedication to the rejuvenation of kingship. Walk among giant statues, obelisks, and the beautifully lit courtyard as evening falls.

Temple of Karnak
You will have your final breakfast on the boat before you have to check out, then you will be driven with your Egyptologist tour guide to visit the magnificent Karnak Temple, which was, at its peak, the largest and most important religious complex in ancient Egypt. The most significant structure, and the largest religious building ever built, is the Temple of Amun-Ra, considered to be where that god lived on earth with his wife, Mut, and son, Khonsu, who also have temples at the site.

Valley of the Kings
The tombs of the New Kingdom Pharaohs are in The Valley of the Kings, which is an astounding location where 62 Pharaohs are buried. This was a secret place, where sentries guarded the entrance, as well as the tops of the hills to discourage tomb robbers.

Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari
The magnificent Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El-Bahri, which is one of the most distinctive temples in all of Egypt. It was built of limestone, not sandstone like most of the other funerary temples of the New Kingdom period. After this visit to the Theban "City of the Dead", you will be driven to Luxor Airport to catch your flight to Cairo (1 hour).
