The volunteer(s) will have an exciting firsthand cultural experience of living a basic African lifestyle characterized by living in and with the natural environment and cultural activities that will teach him/her new ways of going about daily life without the intricacies of
the modern world. Skills and insights you will learn include farming practices, local cultural activities like singing and basketry as well as traditional leadership structures while enjoying local African foods. The volunteer(s) will also be able to understand the development process as he/she will be interacting with both a traditional setting coupled with elements of a developing society, and will see how the two processes interact with each other.
We shall pick up our clients at 6.00m. The activity starts at 8.00 am, therefore we require our clients to be ready 2 hours before departure for pick-up.
Travel to the village via train, ride through the Tsavo National park, and see various animals
You will be hosted in an African homestead where you will wake up at 5 am, put on the fire using charcoal, help milk the cow, make breakfast, and head out with your host to fetch grass for the cow. Take breakfast and head out to the farm to learn how the farmer does his farming. Come back at lunchtime, and help make lunch. Take an afternoon rest and help prepare dinner.
This a repeat of the Day 1 morning activity. Afternoon shall be meeting the community women's group and learning how to make traditional baskets At 5pm, head home to help prepare dinner.
After breakfast, head to the local shopping center and help a shopkeeper run his shop and interact with the locals for the day.
After breakfast, head to the health dispensary, where you shall volunteer and assist the nurse on duty. Some of the activities will be weighing babies, taking records and registering the patients, and any other reasonable duties assigned by the nurse.

Take a hike to Msidu forest, enjoy a quiet day of hiking and bird watching. It is quite an intense hike, we shall have a discussion on the fitness levels of each participant to determine the distances. The views are breathtaking.
Have a rest day after the hike, stay home and share stories with the family members
