Taste the true flavors of Santorini on a private journey through the island’s wine, olive oil and culture. With your certified wine expert, you’ll explore two acclaimed wineries, and discover how volcanic soil, ancient basket-trained vines and centuries of tradition shape every glass. Then, at Santo Wines, a guided olive oil tasting with sweeping caldera views reveals another side of the island’s heritage. This is more than a tasting. Each wine and oil tells part of Santorini’s story, from its volcanic past to the families who still farm the land today. It’s a fully private tour at your own pace, with hotel pickup and drop-off, and the experience can be tailored to your interests.
Some areas of Santorini, such as parts of Oia, Fira, Imerovigli and the old villages, have pedestrian-only or very narrow streets that vehicles can’t enter. If your hotel is in one of these areas, we’ll arrange a pickup point as close as possible to your accommodation. We’ll send you the exact meeting point and clear directions after you book.
Visit one of Santorini’s most respected family wineries, founded in 1903 and still run by the Argyros family. Surrounded by old vineyards in Episkopi Gonia, you’ll taste wines made from native grapes such as Assyrtiko, Aidani and Mavrotragano. The estate is especially known for its aged Vinsanto, the island’s sweet wine made from sun-dried grapes. Your guide will explain how it’s made and why it matures so well.
Start at one of Santorini’s best-known and most awarded wineries. Domaine Sigalas was founded in 1991 and sits among the vineyards of Oia, on the island’s northern plain. Your sommelier guide will show you how the volcanic terroir and strong winds shape the grapes, and you’ll taste a selection of the estate’s wines, which may include Assyrtiko, Aidani and Mavrotragano. The tasting room looks out over the vineyards, a lovely first stop to ease into the day.
Finish your tour at Santo Wines, one of Santorini’s most recognized wineries, perched on the edge of the caldera. This is where the olive oil tasting takes place, with sweeping views over the Aegean Sea and the volcano. You’ll sample three Santo Roots olive oils plus one for comparison, from grassy and peppery to smooth and fruity, served with fresh bread, apple slices and bruschetta. It’s a relaxed, scenic end to the day.
