Time for photo stops of the scenic landscapes you encounter along the road. On your second day experience Petra, the spectacular rock city built by the Nabateans more than 2,000 years ago. Hop in a 4x4 to see uncover the dramatic scenery of Wadi Rum before you return the last day back to Amman or we drop you off at a hotel at the Dead Sea. Accommodation is not included throughout the tour.
Pickup at Amman Airport or any location in Amman City to start your trip. For arrivals to the airport on the same day you need to land in summer time before 09:00am and in winter time before 08:00am.
Drive to Mt. Nebo, the place where Prophet Moses gazed at the promised land before he died. You visit the old monastery and overlook the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and parts of the Holy Land.
Short ride to Madaba, to view the famous mosaic 6th century map of Palestine in St. George's church. Afterward we drive to Kerak along the famous ancient biblical caravan route the King's Way. We have a short stop in Wadi Al-Mujib, a great wide valley with magnificent geological formation.
Visit in Kerak the famous Crusader castle built in 1132/34 by King Baldwin I. of Jerusalem.
Late afternoon we reach the town of Petra, where you will be dropped off at your booked hotel.
Today visit the red rose city Petra, the biggest attraction of Jordan. Petra was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and founded a commercial empire that extended into Syria. Start the trip on horse back or on foot to the canyon, the so called Siq, and walk to the most beautiful monument: the Treasury, from here to the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle.
In the afternoon, drive 1.5 hours to one of the most impressing desert landscapes in the world, Wadi Rum. Embark a 4x4 to see sand dunes, rock inscriptions and a natural rock bridge. In case of time constraints the jeep ride can be done on day 3. If your booked camp is not accessible by a regular vehicle, you need to book for tomorrow a 4x4 ride with the camp to Rum Village.
To a pre-arranged time pickup Wadi Rum Village or Wadi Rum Camp, if it accessible off-road, and return to Amman or end the tour at a Dead Sea hotel.
