Our representative will pick you at any location in Amman (Amman Airport, Amman Hotel or Amman Residence). You need to arrive to Amman Airport latest at 08:00 in winter time and latest at 09:00 in summer time to be able to do the tour. Drive around one hour to Mt Nebo.
Prophet Moses wandered 40 years in the desert until he reached Mt. Nebo. This is the place where he gazed at the Promised Land before he died here. Beside the panoramic view overlooking the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and parts of the Holy Land, you see on Mount Nebo the remains of an early Christian monastery.
Close by Mt. Nebo is the town of Madaba, known in Jordan as City of Mosaics. You find here many examples of Byzantine and Umayyad mosaic art. As example we view the 6th century map of Palestine on the floor of St. George's church. If time permits and you like free time to wander around.
Proceed to Kerak along the famous ancient biblical caravan route the King's Way. We have a short stop in Wadi Al-Mujib, a great wide valley with magnificent geological formation. Visit in Kerak the famous Crusader castle built in 1132/34 by King Baldwin I. of Jerusalem.
From Kerak continue 1.5 hours to Petra for overnight at hotel.
Today visit the red rose city Petra, the biggest attraction of Jordan. Petra was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and laid the foundation of a commercial empire that extended into Syria. With the guide pass the canyon, the so called Siq, to see the most beautiful monument: the Treasury. Continue via the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle. The guide says farewell to you at the restaurant area; free time to explore Petra on your own, before walking the same way back to the entrance.
Check out from hotel and drive 1.5 hours to Wadi Rum.
Wadi Rum is one of the most impressing desert landscapes in the world. Explore the area by a jeep ride to see rugged mountains, canyons, sand dunes and rock inscriptions from Thamudic and Nabatean period. The colourful and dramatic landscape had been used as location for several Hollywood films.
After around 3.5 hours arrive at the lowest point on the earth, the Dead Sea, check in at hotel. Time to float on the salty waters and relax at the beach.
To a pre-arranged time pickup lobby Dead Sea hotel for a short drive of 20 minutes to the Baptism Site.
The Baptism Site, known as Bethany beyond Jordan or Al Maghtas, is located on the east bank of the Jordan River. This is the place where John preached and baptized Jesus. It is believed, Prophet Elijah ascended from here into heaven. To be seen are remains from early Christian churches and baptism pools.
Then drive 1 hour to Amman Downtown. Visit the Citadel with the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace and the small Archaeological Museum. Not far is the Roman Theatre from 2nd century, stroll along traditional Souqs and in Rainbow Street of Jabal Amman. Transfer to your drop-off location in Amman or to Amman Airport for an evening departure.
