Not another Nile trip — live the river as travelers have for millennia. While big boats rush by, slow down on a traditional felucca and let the Nile set the pace.
Sleep on mattresses under the stars, hearing only water and the Milky Way. Feel the gentle sway of the felucca as the Nile breeze cools your skin. By day, sail past golden cliffs, palm groves and villages. We stop at islands to swim, walk or ride donkeys on desert paths. Children run to greet visitors.
Our route includes Edfu’s Temple of Horus, Gebel el Silsila, Kom Ombo, Daraw’s camel market and Aswan. Each stop has magic — ruins carved in rock and lively, colorful markets.
Sunrise and sunset are unforgettable as the sky shifts from gold to pink to violet, the river reflecting it all. Evenings bring shared meals, laughter and the joy of being on the water.
This journey means leaving routine and noise behind to experience Egypt slowly and authentically. By the end you won’t just have seen the Nile — you’ll have lived it.
Your adventure begins with a comfortable pickup from your hotel or Luxor International Airport by our air-conditioned car. You'll then be transported to Edfu City, where your Felucca awaits.
Begin your adventure with a warm welcome and a comfortable pickup from your hotel or Luxor International Airport. A private air-conditioned car takes you to Edfu City, where your traditional Egyptian felucca awaits. From the moment you step aboard, life slows down—gentle sails, the rhythm of the Nile, and nights under a canopy of stars. A support boat follows, offering modern comforts like a bathroom, shower, and dining area, while your private crew and cook make sure every moment is cared for. Your journey begins with a visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt’s most awe-inspiring and best-preserved monuments. Afterward, you explore Wadi el-Shatt, an archaeological site rich with ancient tombs and whispers of forgotten stories. By afternoon, the felucca glides south toward the towering cliffs of Gebel el-Silsila. As the sun dips low, you moor at a quiet island nearby, dining under the stars and falling asleep to the gentle flow of the river.
Morning light reveals the sandstone cliffs of Gebel el-Silsila, once the great quarries that built Egypt’s temples. You walk among the carved remains, where history feels alive in every stone. Back on board, the felucca sets sail toward Kom Ombo. The double temple, uniquely dedicated to both Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the falcon god, rises majestically by the riverbank.
Continue sailing to Kom Ombo, where the day begins with more time to explore its remarkable reliefs and sacred chambers. Then, sails unfurl once more as you journey downstream toward Daraw. Known for its bustling camel market, Daraw offers a lively glimpse into local culture and trade, where herders and merchants gather from across Egypt and Sudan. Your felucca moors at an island near Daraw for another night of peace beneath the open sky.
At dawn, you head into the heart of Daraw’s famous camel market, where the energy is unmatched—an authentic spectacle of tradition and commerce. Traders in flowing galabeyas haggle with spirited voices, camels bellow as they shift in the dust, and the entire market comes alive with colors, sounds, and a rhythm that has pulsed here for centuries. It is not merely a market, but a cultural performance that offers a rare glimpse into the beating heart of Nubian life. Later, you return to the river, where your felucca awaits, its white sails catching the morning breeze as you embark on the final, tranquil leg of your timeless Nile voyage.
The felucca sails gently into Aswan, where your timeless journey comes to an end. As the golden sun sets over the palm-fringed banks, you will disembark with memories of the Nile’s serenity, the temples’ grandeur, and the warm hospitality of the river. Here, at the gateway to Nubia, the stories of ancient Egypt blend seamlessly with the vibrant life of the present, leaving you with an experience to treasure long after the sails have been lowered.
