This beautiful location is only minutes from the heart of San Antonio. Located next to the meandering river, you will be captivated by the grandeur of these residences. Hear the stories behind 40 of these these historic homes where many of the city's most prominent citizens lived. See the beautiful residence built by the man who created the first ice cream soda, the refuge of the eccentric socialite who was buried sitting in her Ferrari, and the house where the inventor of the corn chip resided. Also, the home that had the first electric lights in the city, and the houses of a famous tenor and another where a writer began her career. What do Elvis Presley, Davy Crockett and Lily Munster have to do with King William ? Hear all these stories and many more on your guided walking tour. Every step forward is a step back in time.

We will meet at the gate of the Guenther Restaurant and Museum at 205 E Guenther St, San Antonio TX 78204, USA, and your Guide will be wearing a hat and holding a red folder. The Guenther complex is open Wed -Sun, from 8am to 2pm. Then the gate will be locked ! It is not open on Monday and Tuesday.

    We will take a casual stroll along the leafy streets of historic King William, and during this walking tour, you will hear the history and the stories of these grand residences. Find out about their unique architecture, those who designed and built them, and the families who lived in these stunning homes. Many of them have fascinating tales, and they have served not only as places to raise families, but there are many hidden and long-forgotten stories behind these imposing doors. We will see some treasures of life long ago in this historic neighborhood, and reminisce about the neighbors who lived here. Remember...every step forward is a step back in time.
