The Colossus of Rhodes was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, built in the harbor of the city of Rhodes in the 3rd century BCE. It was a gigantic bronze statue of the sun god Helios, created by the sculptor Chares of Lindos to celebrate the island’s victory over an invading army. The statue stood about 33 meters high, making it one of the tallest statues of the ancient world. Although it stood for only about 54 years before being destroyed by an earthquake, it remained a powerful symbol of unity, strength, and artistic achievement in Greek culture. Today, it continues to inspire historians and travelers as a legendary masterpiece of ancient engineering.
Once we reach Monthe Smith Hill you will enjoy exceptional panoramic views of the city and the seashore, and also visit the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, the impressive open-air ancient Stadium and the Amphitheatre.
On the way to Lindos, you can choose an optional short stop at a pottery workshop where the traditional pottery of Rhodes is made. You can see the wonderful pieces of art, and watch the potter working at his wheel. You can even learn the mystery of the Pythagorean cup!
We’ll make a memorable stop at the Lindos Viewpoint in Rhodes Island, the perfect panoramic spot to admire this iconic whitewashed village from above. From here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Acropolis of Lindos, the charming bay of St. Paul’s, the crystal-clear Aegean Sea, and the picturesque little harbor — a scenery that truly captures the essence of the island. It’s the ideal place for stunning photos, whether you want postcard-perfect shots or simply a moment to take in the beauty of Lindos from a unique perspective.
Little before we reach the beautiful traditional village of Lindos your driver will stop you at a place for a fantastic panoramic view of the village together with its Acropolis on the top. After that, we will leave you at the main entrance of the village. You will have at least 1 and a half hours to explore it and of course, visit its famous Acropolis. The driver will wait for you at the exact place he left you.
Next, we’ll stop at Agios Pavlos (St. Paul’s Bay) in Lindos, a serene and iconic spot that perfectly captures the magic of Rhodes. From here, you can admire the golden sand beach, turquoise waters, and the small charming harbor, all framed by the dramatic cliffs and whitewashed houses above. It’s an absolute paradise for photos — whether you want to snap the bay itself, the traditional village rooftops, or the sparkling Aegean stretching into the horizon. A perfect moment to pause, breathe in the sea air, and capture unforgettable memories.
Your final stop can be the Grand Master’s Palace (optional), right in the heart of Rhodes Old Town. If you’d like, we can leave you here to explore at your own pace.
