Embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi forest for approximately 3-4 hours from Kigali or 7-8 hours from Entebbe. Upon arrival, check in a forest lodge with stunning forest views. Head out for a community experience and visit the Batwa community, an indigenous group of people who lived in the forest alongside the gorillas (optional Activity). Return to the lodge for a relaxing evening and prepare for the captivating forest experience in the morning.
Start with a transfer to the park headquarters for a comprehensive briefing. Spend 2-3 Hours trekking through the lush forest, spend an hour observing a family of gorillas of adults, babies and juveniles interacting. After the experience, walk out of the forest, have your packed lunch then depart to Lake Bunyonyi, at a relaxing and comfortable accommodation by the lake. Enjoy an evening campfire before the calm waters of Africa's second deepest Lake.
After a delightful breakfast with views of the sun rising over the smoky, rolling hills and the chirping of weaver birds nesting on the cottage grounds, get on a boat tour to the historic islands. These include the renowned "Punishment Island," the "Leprosy Island," and Governor's Island, where you can observe zebras, antelopes, and other wildlife grazing. Later, set off for Kigali Airport or Entebbe Airport for your late evening flight departure.
