Meeting and pickup
Fundación Loros, located in the village of Villanueva, Bolívar — right on the Villanueva–Arenal road, just 35 km from Cartagena. It is very easy to reach and completely safe. If taking an Uber, simply enter the destination as: “Fundación Loros | Loros Wildlife Sanctuary."
What to expect
Explore biodiversity-rich trails while learning about the rehabilitation and conservation efforts led by Fundación Loros. Prepare and deliver food for rescued parrots and macaws, fostering a meaningful connection with these majestic birds.
You’ll also harvest cassava and papaya with local farmers, gaining insight into rural traditions and sustainable practices. Before the day ends, you’ll plant a native tree to support forest regeneration.
Guided by local experts, you’ll uncover the vital connection between communities and conservation.
Important: Please remember that it is not permitted to feed the animals directly or touch them. All activities are supervised by trained staff, as this is a rehabilitation center, not a zoo.
Please note that the price does not include transportation between your hotel and the sanctuary. However, getting here is easy: we can arrange private transport for you, or you can take Uber if you prefer.
