What to expect

This service operates from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in accordance with the operating hours of the migration offices on both sides of the border, which close in the afternoon. The journey includes the official border crossing through the Desaguadero frontier town. Due to transportation regulations in Peru and Bolivia, it is mandatory to switch vehicles at the border: your Peruvian driver will accompany you to the migration area, and once you complete the formalities, a Bolivian vehicle and driver will be waiting to continue the trip to La Paz. For travelers seeking additional comfort, an assistant for migration procedures can be arranged for an extra fee, providing guidance and support throughout the border crossing.
