It’s easy to zoom past this, but we always stop. It’s the only stadium in the world made entirely of marble. Standing there, it’s easy to imagine the roar of the crowds from the first modern Olympics in 1896. It’s a short, sharp stop that really puts the scale of Greek history into perspective.

This is one of those "only in Athens" moments. We’ll catch the changing of the guard at the Parliament. The Evzones wear these incredible traditional uniforms with 400 pleats in their skirts (one for every year of Ottoman occupation). 4Plaka
After the grand monuments, we’ll dive into the narrow, winding streets of Plaka. It’s the oldest neighborhood in the city, full of jasmine vines and old houses.
