    Lingyin Temple

    After lunch, we will continues to the Lingyin Temple where we will spend some time appreciating the profound Buddhist atmosphere. This is the oldest temple in Hangzhou with a history of over 1,700 years. It is also regarded as a treasure of the Buddhist culture, housing various historic relics from different dynasties. A maverick monk named Ji Gong (1148 - 1209) was ordained at Lingyin Temple. Our guide will tell you some interesting stories about this renowned monk who usually wore rags , was unkempt, and violated Buddhist commandments.
