Our Epic Athens walk is an experiential retreat that focusses on the Greek Mythology and Classic Athens Era (since Athens is an open air Museum) combining the modern Athens life and how these two eras, the classic with the modern can bring into light the divine element of every single person, as the Ancient Greeks believed and created the most amazing values of life like democracy, mythology, theatre, astronomy, science, mathematics, philosophy and many many more.
During this tour, our guests become part of the experience and together we travel back in time in an inspiring walk that will make you see Greece differently...
This is a private tour! We pick up our guests from all hotels that are located in the center of Athens (around Syndagma, Monastiraki Square or Plaka). The tour duration is 3.5 hours excluding pickup / drop off (or 4 hours including pick up/drop off).
Syndagma or Constitution Square, with the Houses of Parliamaent dominating the area and the famous Royal Guards is where out tour begins!
The famous Ermou Street with her plethora of shops, took her name from Mercury the ancient Greek god of commerce and communication. On the way there are some lovely spots that will inspire you.
Mitropoleos square with the cathedral is our next stop where we will visit the famous cathedral, the small church of Aghios Eleftherios and have our coffee under the shade of the trees!
Wander around the beautiful Plaka with her small streets, and charming little shops. Plaka feels like a neighborhood on a Greek island and is amongst the must see places while in Athens!
This is one of our favorite sites, that we approach from outside and has a very interesting story. Feel the vibes of this place and unwind.
The Ancient Agora of Athens, is the place where everything started. It was home to the Ancient Athenians, philosophers, mathematicians, politicians and the place of birth of Democracy, Astronomy, Mathematics, Geometry, Philosophy and other values that form what Greece is. Here, you will visit the Temple of Athena and Hephaestus (the most well-preserved temples of Ancient Greece) and marvel the Acropolis from a very special location. The Ancient Agora, is for The Greek Gourmet Tours the blessed place that Ancient Greeks frequented.
Monastiraki Square is also called the "Times Square" of Athens! Here we will stop for a the best gyros in town!
