Too many tours reduce female Amsterdammers to working women and Dutch feminists when there’s actually a huge variety in Amsterdam women’s history. Women have done everything from changing society at the highest levels to influencing culture to defying earthly and spiritual powers.
This small-group walking tour through Amsterdam’s historic center reveals the way women across the centuries pursued their goals in the face of societal and structural resistance. Led by a trained storyteller, this tour is engaging as well as inspiring. You’ll come away with a sense of Amsterdam’s rich history and culture, as well as some hidden stories.
