Be impressed by admiring the pediment of the temple dedicated to Artemis, the goddess of hunting. Her worship played a very significant role among the local people during the ancient times. The temple was constructed in the 6th century B.C. and its pediment is the only part which survived through the centuries, even though the barbarian incursions, the earthquakes and the various wars had been proved extremely disastrous for Corfu and its monuments.
