What to expect

Experience a real Norwegian winter moment beside a peaceful forest lake near Oslo. After a short journey from the city centre, step into fresh winter air, quiet forest surroundings, and beautiful lake views. A warm bonfire will be ready for you when you arrive.

Sit by the fire, slow down, and enjoy traditional Norwegian outdoor life with your local host. Around the bonfire, you will taste a selection of Norwegian flavours, including reindeer, moose, sausages, cured meats, cheese, flatbread, lompe, local jam, and other seasonal favourites.

Warm up with hot chocolate, coffee, tea, a warm lingonberry drink, or Solo, a classic Norwegian soft drink. Grill marshmallows, make simple s’mores, and carve your own wooden grilling stick to use over the fire.

When the weather and ice conditions are safe, you may also have the chance to try ice fishing on the lake. This relaxed small-group experience is ideal for travellers who want to discover Norwegian nature, traditions, and outdoor life just outside Oslo.
