This unique adventure gives you an opportunity to see the best that Kenya offers with scenic views of its beautiful landscapes and wildlife. We'll visit 3 main national parks: Maasai Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo.
The Maasai Mara is the most popular safari destination in East Africa. It is the site of the Great Migration, where over 2 million zebras, gazelles and wildebeest travel from Serengeti to the Maasai Mara each year.
Amboseli is home to huge numbers of African bush elephant, hence its moniker: Home of the African Elephant. The park has done extraordinary work to protect these animals, and sightings are all but guaranteed at Amboseli. Beyond the elephants, you will also find the rest of the Big Five: lions, leopard, buffalo and giraffe.
Situated in Kenya's southeast, Tsavo is near the Tanzanian border and is close to the Kenyan coast. It's well known for its mane-less lions, big herds of red dust-covered elephants, and cheetah.
Travelers can also find us in front of Nyayo National Stadium and Swimming Pool, where Sports Kenya is based. Address: Nyayo Stadium, Langata Rd, Nairobi.
Meeting at the Nairobi airport this day or the day before. We'll drive immediately to the south through the dramatic Great Rift Valley with a stopover at a number of view points to observe the escarpment. And we will freeze in the amazement on the hills above the valley until the morning, waiting for the miracles that the Maasai Mara hides. We'll discover them tomorrow together with a community based guides, responsibely focused on the Maasai community who are all central in the Mara expereinces.
Tonight we'll stay at Oseki Maasai Mara Camp, with the team which strives to work together with the community as much as they can to make life a little easier for everyone. They're passionate about helping both animals and people. Therefore, all of their activities are solemly carried out by local Maasai peoples who are enthousiastic and passionate about their culture and fantastic natural environment. Each of carefully designed activities has the best interest of both nature and Maasai culture in mind.
Leave the lodge in the morning after full breakfast with your picnic lunch boxes for an extensive full day game viewing in this vast savanna grassland within the Mara triangle — famous Mara reserve is renowned for its great herds of plains mame, black-manned lions, leopards and cheetahs, it also contains numerous Elephants and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. This game drive will take you to the Mara River, the famous gateway of the migration of the wildebeests and zebras from Serengeti in Tanzania in late June / early July to Maasai Mara and in October back to Serengeti. You will have an opportunity to see the hippos and the crocodile basking along the river bank. After lunch in the middle of nowhere, you will have another extensive game drive on your way back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Let's drive to Amboseli National park. Owered over by the magnificent bulk of Mount Kilimanjaro (5.896 m.), Africa's highest mountain, Amboseli is one of Kenya's oldest, famous and most-visited parks. Endlessly panoramic, yet comparatively compact, it is dotted with emerald green swamps in which great herds of elephant wallow, half submerged in the papyrus grasses. The permanent marshlands also provide a potent draw to a wide variety of wildlife, particularly hippos and buffaloes, while offering a haven for the abundant water birds. On the plains are numerous antelopes, spotted hyenas, jackals, warthogs, olive baboons and vervet monkeys. Lions are rare. Observation Hill, a conical peak, which is easily climbed, offers stunning views of both the wildlife and Mount Kilimanjaro.
Exploring Amboseli National Park. The surrounding flat grasslands are home to grazing antelopes. Spotted hyenas are plentiful, as are jackals, warthogs, olive baboons and vervet monkeys. No longer present in their original numbers, lions can still be found in Amboseli though the famous black-maned lions have long since disappeared, as have the black rhinos that were once so plentiful. Wildlife highlights: lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, zebra, hippo, spotted and striped hyena, giraffe, oryx, wildebeest, gerenuk, impala and Grant's gazelle.
We begin our journey towards beautiful Tsavo East National Park. When entering the park, we start our first game drive directly from Bachuma gate. We encounter a wide range of wildlife, e.g. zebras, elephants, different types of antelopes, lions, buffaloes, leopards, giraffes and also a variety of different types of bird species. After the game drive we enjoy lunch at a lodgee or safari camp. After lunch, we proceed for more adventures in a late afternoon game drive.
Spend the entire morning spotting game in Tsavo's semi-arid to arid habitat, fed by the confluence of Tsavo and Athi rivers, which go on to form Galan River. Apart from its wildlife attractions, you will also get to see the Yatta Plateau on the horizon which is billed as the world's largest lava flow. After lanch time you'll appreciate Tsavo's scenic views and the fact that it is a dry and unforgiving place where crowding into smaller spaces especially in the dry season for access to water and habitat is common.
