Here, we will have an introduction to Amsterdam. How the Amsterdam we see today evolve from a fishing village 750 years ago.
A walk through medievil Amsterdam all the while covering all the amazing changes over the centuries.
We will see all the iconic Amsterdam canals and you will discover how they were built. The 17th Century was full of change for Amsterdam and we will look at all the major events that made Amsterdam the most important city in the world.
When the tour goes to the Jordaan, you will see this lovely part of Amsterdam. It used to be the area that housed the people who built the 1600's canal expansion. Now it is 'the village' part of Amsterdam. Lots of quiet streets and lovely places to eat or have a drink.
We will look at old Amsterdam as we go from the Waag to Dam Square. There is lots of history and stories to be had here.
One of the oldest hofjes in Amsterdam. It was originally used to house lay women who had not taken their vows to become nuns. A set of beautiful houses and a English Reformed chuch from 1607 and a Catholic chapel. A stunning piece of Amsterdam history.
