Morning: Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your guide will warmly welcome you. Following a short briefing about your safari, embark on a scenic drive towards Kibale Forest National Park. Enjoy stunning views of Uganda’s rolling hills, tea plantations, and lush greenery. Afternoon: Stop in Fort Portal for lunch and a brief tour of the vibrant town. Continue to Kibale, arriving at your lodge in the late afternoon or evening. Evening: Relax at your lodge, surrounded by the sounds of the forest. Dinner is served as you prepare for the next day’s adventure.
Morning: After breakfast, head to Kibale Forest for your first chimpanzee tracking experience. The forest is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, as well as other primates like L’Hoest’s monkeys and red colobus monkeys. Your guide will lead you through the dense forest, sharing insights about the ecosystem and its inhabitants. Spend one captivating hour observing the chimps in their natural habitat. Afternoon: Return to the lodge for lunch, then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Drive through scenic landscapes, with the option to stop for photos at crater lakes. Arrive near Kyambura Gorge in the evening.
Morning: Embark on a chimpanzee trek in the spectacular Kyambura Gorge, also known as the “Valley of Apes.” This stunning landscape offers dramatic views and an incredible opportunity to spot chimps and other wildlife. Afternoon: Have lunch, then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions. Keep an eye out for these majestic predators. Evening: Arrive at your lodge in Bwindi. Relax and enjoy dinner.
Morning: Early breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by the rangers. Begin your trek through the dense Bwindi Forest to find a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take 2-6 hours depending on the gorilla location. Spend an awe-inspiring hour observing gorillas in their natural habitat. Afternoon: Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Optional Evening Activity: Take a community walk or enjoy a Batwa cultural experience. Learn about their traditional lifestyle and music.
Morning: After breakfast, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for your second gorilla trek. This park offers a different experience with breathtaking views of the Virunga Volcanoes. Meet the Nyakagezi gorilla family, known for its unique members and smaller group size. Afternoon: Return to the lodge for a late lunch. Relax or explore optional activities such as golden monkey tracking or hiking trails in the park.
Morning: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before starting the return journey to Entebbe. En-route stop at the Equator for photos and souvenir shopping. Afternoon: Have lunch at a local restaurant along the way. Arrive in Entebbe and transfer to the airport for your evening flight.
