Wine tasting is a must when visiting Santorini. The island is famous for many wines which are shipped all over the world. Learn about the famous wines and wine making of Santorini by tasting some of the finest on this luxurious wine tour. On your private tour, you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional village, and three local wineries and taste different varieties of wine whilst enjoying beautiful views the sunset at your final winery.

At each winery, you will have the chance to taste some of Santorini finest wines such as Nikteri, Vinsanto and Assyrtiko with special local delicacies. Sample many different varieties of wine and taste some of the best traditional dishes that are integral to the island. Explore the cellars of each winery and learning the wine making techniques.

    OPTION 1: Trading for more than 100 years from an old Canava in Episkopi Gonia, Argyros Estate Winery has since built a modern winery with a stunning visitor’s centre. There are vines that date back as far as the 1850s, which acquaint to some of the oldest vines on the island. The Argyros family now produces three Assyrtiko wines, an Aidani, a full-bodied red from the Mavrotragano grape and three Vinsantos.

    OPTION 2: Art Space, a unique Art Centre built within the pumice rock – carved chambers of an old winery which is located in the small village of Exo Gonia, operating since 1999, offering visitors a chance to taste the highest quality of wines.

    OPTION 3: A charming winery located in the village of Megalochori. Venetsanos Winery was built by the Venestanos family into a cliff in 1947, the Winery is in the most stunning position of Santorini, as it is carved into nature. Wine Tastings take place on a rocky terrace overlooking the magnificent caldera of Santorini.

    OPTION 4: A favourite to many, Gavalas winery is a small and intimate winery located in Megalochori. A family boutique winery with a tradition of three centuries, and a history of 5 generations of wine making. Gavalas offer an intimate wine tasting experience in Megalochori Village.

    OPTION 5: A winery founded in 1997 in an abandoned vineyard is located in the village of Pyrgos. Try the vintage wines of Hatzidakis, made from their organic grape variety ‘Aidani’ in their cave-like tasting rooms carved into the side of the mountain.

    OPTION 6: A small, intimate, scenic winery founded in 1991 and located in the village Oia. Sigalas originally started making his wine from his home, and today bottles more than 350,000 a year. Enjoy your wine tasting in the vineyards with traditional snacks and good views of the sunset.

    OPTION 7: Santorini is famous around the world for its winemaking, the Koutsougiannopoulos Wine Museum entails of everything you would like to know about winemaking in Santorini. Visit the wine museum and get a taste of what is like to be a winemaker in Santorini. Nestled in a cave 8 metres below ground and 300 metres long, you will get a tour of the wine museum, and then experience wine tasting in their boutique winery.
