Skogafoss is one of the most iconic waterfalls in the world, and even featured in “Game of Thrones”. Because of its south-facing position, it is often covered in rainbows as the 60-meter cascade of water produces a lot of spray! Skogafoss is one of the most popular sights in the country and it’s possible to climb to the top of the falls to see it from there too.
Solheimajokull is part of one of the largest glaciers in the country, Myrdalsjokull. Will take you to the viewing platform to soak in the spectacular view.
Our next stop is Dyrhólaey, which means “Door Hill Island”. It’s actually an impressive peninsula that stretches across several towering stacks and stone arches, overlooking the black sand beach at Reynisfjara. The views from here are marvelous in every direction.
It is now time to visit the world-famous black sand beach at Reynisfjara, where beautifully-shaped basalt columns hug the cliffs, volcanic sands are pounded by powerful Atlantic waves and the starkly shaped sea stacks of the Reynisdrangar tower just offshore.
Our first stop is at the geothermal park, where you’ll explore bubbling hot springs and experience Iceland’s geothermal energy up close. There you will see the Eilífur Geysir, which erupts every 15-20 minutes. While you’re here, be sure to try hverabrauð, the sweet, steam-baked geothermal bread fresh out of the on-site bakery, and visit the greenhouse to see experimental banana plants growing in this geothermal paradise.
Visit the spectacular Kerid Volcanic Crater, a 3000 year old crater which is 55 meters deep.
Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, will greet you with it´s amazing beauty and power.
Witness the amazing world famous Geysir hot spring and its active neighbor Strokkur, erupting up 30 meters high every few minutes.
You will discover Thingvellir which is the old site of the Icelandic parliament, a UNESCO World Heritage Site listed for its amazing nature and rich history.
