Samburu Game Reserve is situated in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya’s vast Northern Frontier District. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Masai. Pick up from your hotel or airport and depart to Samburu National Reserve located in the Northern Kenya arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game viewing in the reserve Samburu is famous for its truly wild semi-arid landscape, and the large concentration of wild animals and bird-life. Together with the adjoining Shaba and Buffalo Springs national reserves, Samburu is popular for hosting the rare Northern-Kenya animal species (Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich) which are not found in the other popular parks and reserves in Kenya. It is also home to all the African big cats (lion, cheetah and leopard), alongside other big game including elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, etc. Samburu is also a renowned bird watching. The unique culture of The Samburu tribe who live in the region is the icing to cake for the amazing Samburu National Reserve. Later you will drive back to your hotel/camp for dinner and overnight
Today you have an early rise for your estimated Safari game drive during which you will see more of the Samburu’s wildlife. Early morning, and late afternoon are considered the best times to spot animals at their most active. Return to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast – rest of the morning at leisure. Later you might to decide to have a nature walk. After the sumptuous lunch, take a late afternoon safari game drive to search for animals which many of them are active during late evening hour. Later return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Early morning breakfast as you check out in your camps and thereafter drive back to Nairobi en-route short game drive. You will later proceed to Nairobi with optional lunch on the way.(At your own expenses).
