Giza Pyramids, Saqqara and Memphis

Giza Plateau
Start at the Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. Your guide walks you to the Pyramids of Khafre (Chephren) and Menkaure (Mycerinus) and explains how the three monuments relate to one another. Stop at the panoramic viewpoint for photos of all three pyramids together, then continue to the Valley Temple and the Great Sphinx. You will also enjoy a camel ride across the plateau, with the pyramids as your backdrop.

Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids
Next, visit the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, built in the 3rd Dynasty and recognised as the world’s oldest major stone structure. It marks the moment Egyptian builders moved from mud brick to stone, and it is the starting point for every pyramid that followed, including the ones you saw earlier in the day.

Mit Rahina Museum
Finish at Memphis, founded by King Menes and the first capital of Egypt. It stayed a centre of rule and culture for more than 3,000 years. Here you will see the colossal statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx. Lunch is included during the day. Your guide then drives you back to your hotel.

Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Mohamed Ali Mosque , old cairo

The Egyptian Museum in Cairo
Begin at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. The highlight is the Tutankhamun collection, including the famous golden mask of the boy king. Your guide helps you make sense of the objects so you know what you are looking at, and why it matters.

Cairo Citadel
From the museum, head up to the Citadel of Salah El-Din, which overlooks the city. Inside is the Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali, one of the landmarks of the Cairo skyline, and a good place to take in the view over the old city.

Old Cairo
Finish in Old Cairo, a district of narrow streets where mosques, Coptic churches and Jewish synagogues stand close together. It shows how different faiths have lived side by side in the same neighbourhood for centuries. Lunch is included during the day. After the tour your guide drops you back at your hotel.

Day 3
Alexandria full day tour

Alexandria
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and you will travel to Alexandria in a modern air-conditioned vehicle. The journey takes around 2.5 hours. When you arrive in Alexandria, you will visit the famous Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa and see the remains of the city's Roman period. You will then continue to Qaitbay Citadel, located on the Mediterranean coast and built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. Next, visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the modern library built in honour of the ancient Library of Alexandria. Lunch is included during the tour. On the way back to Cairo, you will pass by Stanley Bridge, one of Alexandria's well-known landmarks. Your guide will also help you take photos during the trip. At the end of the tour, you will be driven back to Cairo and dropped off at your hotel.
