one of the most traditional and emblematic neighborhoods of Cartagena de Indias, located right next to the walled Historic Center. It was formerly a popular and important place in the independence movements, as social and political struggles brewed there. Today, Gethsemane retains its cultural and community essence, mixing history, urban art and local life. Its colorful streets, full of murals, squares and music, make it a very attractive tourist spot, known for its bohemian atmosphere, its typical gastronomy and its Carthagean authenticity.

    Walled City of Cartagena

The historic and colonial quarter of the city, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built between the 16th and 18th centuries by the Spanish as a defensive system against pirates and invaders, with stone walls, strongholds and forts that are still preserved. Inside the walled city are cobblestone streets, colonial houses with florid balconies, historic squares, churches and museums. Today it is the cultural and tourist heart of Cartagena, a place full of history, architecture and tradition, where local life, gastronomy, art and music combine.
