Welcome to Luxor, the world’s greatest open-air museum. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by our representative and transferred to the Dahabiya Saray el Nile for embarkation before lunch. Enjoy a welcome drink as you settle into your luxurious cabin and meet the crew.
Your sightseeing begins with a visit to the Karnak Temple Complex, dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Walk through the majestic Hypostyle Hall, with its 134 towering papyrus columns.
Continue to the Luxor Temple, beautifully illuminated at night, built by Pharaoh Amenhotep III and completed by Ramses II.
Return to your Dahabiya for dinner and overnight in Luxor.
After breakfast, your Dahabiya begins sailing toward Esna, where you will cross the Esna Lock.
Visit the Temple of Khnum, one of the few surviving examples of Greco-Roman architecture in Egypt, dedicated to the ram-headed god who fashioned mankind on his potter’s wheel.
Continue sailing to El Kab, the ancient city of Nekheb. Visit its remarkable tombs of nobles, beautifully carved into the cliffs, and learn about this once-thriving capital of Upper Egypt.
Sail onward to Edfu, home to the Temple of Horus, the falcon-headed god. This temple is one of the best-preserved sanctuaries in Egypt, with magnificent reliefs depicting the eternal battle between Horus and Seth.
Enjoy dinner on board and spend the night near Edfu.
Sail toward the ancient sandstone quarries of Gebel El Silsila, an archaeological treasure rarely visited by larger cruise ships. Explore the rock-cut chapels of Pharaoh Horemheb and Ramses II, carved directly into the cliffs. These quarries supplied the stone used to build Egypt’s most iconic temples. Walk through the sacred sanctuaries, admire the hieroglyphs, and enjoy panoramic views over the Nile. Lunch will be served onboard while sailing toward a quiet riverside location. In the evening, savor a traditional Egyptian barbecue dinner on the riverbank under a sky filled with stars.
Today, enjoy a peaceful day of sailing toward Aswan. Watch the beauty of rural Egypt unfold along the Nile—lush green farmlands, fishermen in small boats, and children waving from the riverbanks. Lunch will be served on deck while you relax and soak in the serene atmosphere. In the afternoon, the Dahabiya anchors near a small island where you can swim or simply unwind. Dinner and overnight onboard, surrounded by the calm waters of the Nile.
After breakfast, begin your Aswan exploration with a visit to the High Dam, one of Egypt’s most impressive modern achievements, controlling the annual flooding of the Nile.
Continue by motorboat to the magical Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis—the mother of Horus and protector of love and healing. The temple’s setting on Agilkia Island, surrounded by the sparkling Nile, makes it one of Egypt’s most beautiful sanctuaries. Explore its colonnades, pylons, and exquisite reliefs before returning to your Dahabiya for lunch.
Enjoy a leisurely afternoon onboard and a tranquil evening in Aswan.
Sail northward to Kom Ombo, where you’ll visit the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god of fertility, and Haroeris (Horus the Elder), the god of the sky. This dual temple features a symmetrical design and fascinating carvings illustrating ancient medical instruments and surgical procedures. Visit the Crocodile Museum, which houses mummified crocodiles and artifacts discovered in the area.
After the tour, return to your Dahabiya for lunch and continue sailing toward Esna. Dinner is served on board.
Enjoy your final full day on the Nile as your Dahabiya sails gently back toward Esna. This is a perfect opportunity to relax, sunbathe on deck, or sip tea while admiring the timeless scenery. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with the crew and fellow guests, celebrating a journey filled with memories, history, and elegance.
