Begin your adventure in the picturesque city of Aswan, one of Egypt’s most serene destinations, famous for its beautiful Nile scenery and significant archaeological sites. Your professional Egyptologist guide will pick you up from your Aswan hotel or the airport in a private air-conditioned vehicle to start your day of discovery.
Your first stop is Philae Temple, one of the most beautiful temples in all of Egypt. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, the temple is often referred to as the “Pearl of Egypt”. Located on Agilkia Island, it is surrounded by the shimmering waters of the Nile. Admire its Graeco-Roman colonnades, kiosks, and detailed sanctuaries as your guide explains the fascinating legends surrounding the temple’s history and its relocation during the construction of the Aswan High Dam.
After exploring this sacred site, you’ll be transferred to your 5-star Nile cruise ship, where you’ll check in and enjoy a delicious onboard lunch. The rest of the day is yours to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of Aswan. You can unwind on the sun deck, watch feluccas glide by, or take in the golden hues of sunset over the Nile. Enjoy dinner on board and spend your first night anchored in Aswan.
Start your morning with breakfast onboard. You have the option to join an early morning excursion to Abu Simbel (additional cost), one of Egypt’s most iconic monuments. These twin temples, built by Ramses II, are masterpieces of ancient engineering and devotion. Carved into the mountainside, the massive statues of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari stand guard over the entrance, symbolizing both divine power and eternal love.
After lunch, your ship will set sail for Kom Ombo, where you’ll visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, uniquely dedicated to two gods—Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon-headed god of the sky. This rare double temple features two symmetrical halves, each with its sanctuaries, courtyards, and altars. Listen as your guide reveals fascinating details about ancient medical instruments depicted on the walls and the temple’s role in ancient Egyptian religion. After your guided visit, return to your ship to enjoy dinner and relax as you sail overnight toward Edfu.
Wake up to another beautiful morning on the Nile and enjoy breakfast on board. Today, your guide will accompany you to Edfu Temple, also known as the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Dedicated to the falcon god Horus, this Ptolemaic-era temple is considered one of the most important religious sites of ancient Egypt. As you enter, you’ll be greeted by towering statues of Horus and vast courtyards lined with hieroglyphs depicting mythological scenes and royal rituals. The temple’s detailed wall carvings have helped Egyptologists learn more about the Hellenistic period, making this site both beautiful and historically significant.
After your visit, return to your cruise for lunch as you continue sailing toward Luxor, passing through picturesque landscapes and small riverside villages. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the sun deck or enjoying the cruise’s amenities. Dinner will be served onboard as your ship anchors in Luxor for the night.
After breakfast, check out but leave your luggage safely at the reception, as today you’ll embark on a full-day guided tour of Luxor’s East and West Banks—the crown jewels of ancient Egypt. Your day begins on Luxor’s West Bank, home to the Valley of the Kings. Explore the majestic tombs of Egypt’s greatest pharaohs, including Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Seti I. Walk through tunnels decorated with vivid reliefs and hieroglyphs that narrate stories of the pharaohs’ journey to the afterlife.
Next, visit the stunning Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt’s most successful female pharaoh. This architectural masterpiece, built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, showcases elegant terraces and colonnades that reflect the grandeur of her reign. Nearby, stop briefly at the towering Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues that once guarded the entrance to Amenhotep III’s temple.
