Taking the train from Kandy can take several hours, and train schedules may sometimes be delayed or unavailable. 5Gregory Lake
Lake Gregory (also called Gregory Reservoir) is a manmade lake built in 1873 under British Governor Sir William Gregory originally for damming the Nanu Oya stream to help with flood control. Over time it has become a major recreational & scenic spot in Nuwara Eliya surrounded by hills, tea plantations and colonial era architecture. ▪︎Enjoy a peaceful walk around the beautiful Gregory Lake surrounded by colorful flowers and scenic nature views.
