This is an anthropological journey beyond the polished, Netflix-style image of Lima’s street food scene. Authentic, immersive, and accessible, it offers a different perspective from the fine-dining world of renowned restaurants like Central and Maido.
We’ll explore the lively streets and markets of Lima’s historic center, including the Central Market, Mesa Redonda, Barrios Altos, and Chinatown. These areas can be crowded, chaotic, noisy, and even overwhelming, but they offer a vivid glimpse into the city’s everyday life and culture.
Along the way, we’ll sample a wide variety of delicious Peruvian street food, from local specialties and tasty bites to hidden neighborhood eateries, carefully selected by local food experts.
