Enjoy a hands-on cooking experience in Sapporo, using fresh Hokkaido seafood in a warm, home-style kitchen.

In this intimate, small-group class, you will learn how to make beautiful seafood sushi rolls and cook light, crispy tempura. After cooking, you will enjoy your meal together at the table.

You will also experience matcha with traditional Japanese sweets and learn about the spirit of Japanese tea culture.

The class is held in a quiet residential area of Sapporo, offering a glimpse into everyday Japanese home life.

The studio is about 15 minutes by car from Sapporo Station and within walking distance of popular sightseeing spots such as Hokkaido Shrine and Maruyama Zoo. The neighborhood is also known as a stylish and pleasant area.

Please arrive a few minutes early. The meeting point is easy to find and located near Maruyama Park and Hokkaido Shrine.

We will meet in front of Kentucky Fried Chicken, a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Maruyama Koen Subway Station. From there, we will take you to the cooking studio. After the lesson, we will take you back to Maruyama Koen Subway Station.

What to expect

Seafood Sushi Rolls, Tempura & Matcha Experience in Sapporo

10:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. A short introduction to the class and Hokkaido’s food culture.
10:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Hands-on cooking and tasting.
12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. Matcha experience with traditional Japanese sweets.

In this class, you will make seafood sushi rolls using fresh seafood and cook crispy tempura. After cooking, you will enjoy your meal together. Then, you can experience matcha with traditional Japanese sweets.
