Welcome to Stockholm and to GAMLA STAN - where the medieval Stockholm meets the modern capital. Local experience requires a local guide! Meet Sophie: a born ”Stockholmer” with many years experience as a guide.
This Old Town Walking Tour is a historic tour experience, where you learn new facts about our Old Town, Stockholm and Sweden + a touch on mutual Nordic history. Sophie tells you facts and stories about the Old Town's past & present. By showing you historic pictures at the different stops, the stories come more to life.
Examples of questions you will get answered

Do people still live in Gamla Stan? Who used to live here?
Why did so many German merchants come to Stockholm?
Why did a French officer become Swedish King in the 1800's?

After the tour, you can take a photo of your guide's list of some hidden gems/local recommendations (restaurants, bakeries, budget options) - don't miss it!
Meeting point is Birger Jarls Torg (Riddarholmen island). We meet right by the Birger Jarl statue. Your guide will wear a visible vest, so he/she will be easy to see! Please arrive 5 minutes before start to check in, so the tour can start punctually. Call us if you are late or can not make it.
