    We'll pick you up from your hotel first thing in the morning, hitting the road towards Giza, a city found 20 kilometres from Cairo. Once there, we'll have three hours to enjoy sights that will be permanently etched in your mind's eye - the Sphinx and the three largest and most famous pyramids in the country, built for the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure.Then return to your hotel.

    Day 2 to visit the Egyptian museum, citadel of Cairo and the KHan el khalili market

    Cairo Citadel

    Our first stop will be the Cairo Citadel, an enormous medieval fortress which has become the best-known non-ancient monument in the city. Inside we'll take a look at the beautifully decorated Mohamed Ali mosque, known as the alabaster mosque for the soft white stone from which it's built.

    we'll dedicate about 2 hour to the Egyptian Museum, the most important museum not just in the country, but perhaps in the world. Here, you can find the masterworks of the ancient period, and the star attraction the legendary treasures of Tutankhamun. Although most of the artifacts from Tutankhamun's treasure are in the Giza Museum, in this museum you can admire more than 200 pieces, including the golden funerary mask.

    Leaving the fortress behind, we'll go to the Khan el-Khalili market, the most famous in Cairo, whose labyrinthine streets are like a real open-air museum. Khan el-Khalili is the perfect place to buy souvenirs and reproductions of objects from ancient Egypt.

    Citadel of Qaitbay

    We'll begin our tour of the Alexandria port by visiting the Qaitibay Citadel. This defensive complex was constructed in the 15th century by Sultan Qaitibay, where the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria once stood. The lighthouse was destroyed by several earthquakes, whose remains were then used to build the citadel.

    Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa

    Then, we head south of the city, where we'll head to the Kom el Shoqafa Catacombs, where the relief artwork shows the fusion of Egyptian and Greco-Roman culture. We'll see its three different levels to get to know its passages, tunnels, and galleries along which the tombs of the necropolis are distributed.Near these catacombs can be found Pompey's Pillar, just where the temple dedicated to the Greco-Egyptian God Serapis was once found.

    Bibliotheca Alexandrina

    We'll then enjoy lunch in the center of Alexandria, with a menu including fish and seafood rice. Then, in the evening, we'll see one of the most important modern buildings in the city: The New Alexandria Library. Built as an homage to the library from the 3rd century BC and burnt down, perhaps during the Roman Civil War in 48 BC, this new building houses thousands of papyrus scrolls and was one of the world centers of scholarship and knowledge in the ancient world. Today, the library, reinaugurated in 2002, is one of the most important cultural spaces in the Eastern Mediterranean.Finally, late in the evening, we'll return to the hotels in Cairo.
