The tour starts with an inside visit to the National Museum of Independence, the historic building where Albania’s first Prime Minister proclaimed independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1912. This landmark holds deep national significance and remains a symbol of pride for Albanians everywhere.
After visiting the National Museum of Independence, we’ll make our way to the old part of the city, stopping at the majestic Muradie Mosque—one of Vlora’s oldest and most iconic landmarks. You'll receive an overview of its rich history and unique architecture from the outside, followed by free time to take photos and step inside to explore at your own pace.
From there, we’ll pass by the historic Etem Bey House and arrive at the Independence Monument, located in Vlora’s central square—one of the most important public spaces in Albania. Every year on November 28, the Albanian President raises the national flag here in honor of the country’s independence. Just behind the monument lies the ancient City of Aulona, where you'll uncover the deep historical roots of Vlora. Two significant landmarks in one iconic square.
