    This Bison Reserve is the largest reserve in Romania, with the purpose to protect the species and repopulate Romanian forests with bison. The bison is the largest land animal on the European continent, has a massive and strong body, reaching at maturity a weight of 800-1000 kg. At the end of 1800 the Bison was almost extinct from Europe. Now, they restarted to run free into the wilderness due to the protection programs that takes place in several locations in Romania.

    Snagov Monastery

    Located on a small island outside Bucharest, Snagov Church is one of the most important religious monuments in Southern Romania. The church, originally part of a monastery, dates since the medieval times when local princes endowed, strengthened, and enlarged it in their effort of supporting the Orthodox Church. The church of Snagov is also part of the many legends surrounding Vlad the Impaler. A symbolic tomb of the prince is placed inside the church, in front of the altar. The lake Snagov and the forest also has stories regarding the Royal House of Romania, The former dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, the german ocupation durring WWII and other stories.
