What to expect
The calligraphy experience is designed to be both educational and hands-on, perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike. Here's how the session flows:
1. Theory & Appreciation (15 minutes)
We begin with a short but engaging introduction to the art of Chinese calligraphy. You'll learn what calligraphy truly means, the essential "Four Treasures of the Study" (brush, ink, paper, and inkstone).
2. Hands-on Practice (60-90 minutes)
Under the patient guidance of our instructor, you'll pick up a brush and practice writing strokes and characters. Whether you're holding a brush for the first time or honing your skills, you'll feel the rhythm and flow of this ancient art.
3. Take Home Your Own Creation
At the end of the session, you'll get to create a small keepsake piece of your own—such as a handwritten scroll, a decorative fan, or a couplet—to take home as a beautiful memory of your experience.
