The Valley of the Kings, located on the West Bank of the Nile, is one of Egypt’s most iconic archaeological sites. The valley is home to over 60 tombs, including the tomb of Tutankhamun, which was discovered nearly intact in 1922. The mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, also known as Deir el-Bahari, is a masterpiece of ancient Egyptian architecture. Hatshepsut was one of the few female pharaohs and her temple reflects her ambition and achievements.
