The tour will end at one of the points where the last activity takes place, such as the boat trip, museum or the walking tour. Accompaniment to the hotel or other point will be provided if the client requests it.
Museum visit (approximately 2 hours) The tour starts in the morning with the guided tour of a museum to choose, according to your interests: Anne Frank House Van Gogh Museum Rijksmuseum. During the visit you will get to know in depth the works, the historical context and the human or artistic histories that have made these museums world references. The visit is always adapted to the rhythm of the group.
Walking tour of the historic center (approximately 2 hours) After the museum, we will start the walking tour of Amsterdam, discovering: Begijnhof, the oldest medieval courtyard in the city Small break for a tasting, possibility of optional tasting of local products
Dam Square and the Royal Palace: Explanation of how Amsterdam was built on water The Dutch Golden Age, we will talk about Napoleon’s time, the royal family, the World War II monument, and culture.
Walk along the historic canals. During the tour they explain: the development of the canals, their engineering and the origin of the city, why the houses are inclined, the taxes paid on them, the importance of religion in the Dutch golden age.
The Amsterdam Stock Exchange and the former financial centre: We will visit the historic Beurs van Berlage, considered one of the first stock exchanges in the world. This point marks the heart of Amsterdam’s former financial centre, where it began its economic power in the Golden Age. Here we will talk about trade, taxes, the rise of the India Company and how the wealth of this city was built on water and ingenuity.
Tolerance policy in the Netherlands In this tour, we will also explore unique aspects of the Dutch mentality: the famous tolerance policy. Boat trip along the canals (approximately 1 hour) The tour ends with a boat trip through the canals, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
