Our tours are fully private, meaning you won’t share the boat with strangers. Every trip is tailored to your group so you can explore at your own pace.
We don’t just visit the Blue Lagoon — we help you experience it properly. Your skipper will anchor in the clearest turquoise water away from the busy beach areas, so you can swim and snorkel in peace. Along the way, we explore hidden caves, dramatic rock formations, and beautiful bays around Comino and nearby islands, giving you multiple opportunities to swim and relax.
Your local skipper will also share interesting stories about the islands and is always happy to take photos for you, so you can focus on enjoying the moment.
If you want to discover the Blue Lagoon without the crowds, see more locations, and enjoy a relaxed private experience, this is truly the best way to explore Comino by boat.
Blue Lagoon – Comino During this private boat tour in Malta we will visit the famous Blue Lagoon in Comino, one of the most stunning swimming spots in the Maltese islands. The lagoon is well known for its incredibly clear turquoise water and bright sandy seabed, making it one of the highlights of a private boat trip to Comino. At the Blue Lagoon you can swim directly from the boat using the swim ladder, or if you prefer you can also go on land and explore the lagoon from the small beach area. The water here is shallow, calm, and perfect for relaxing in the sea. Snorkel masks are provided on board, so you can snorkel and explore the crystal clear water around the lagoon. The excellent visibility makes it a great spot to see the seabed and marine life. Your skipper will normally anchor the boat slightly away from the busiest parts of the Blue Lagoon so you can enjoy swimming and relaxing in clear blue water, away from the crowds, during your private boat tour in Malta.
Crystal Lagoon – Comino Crystal Lagoon is one of the most spectacular places around Comino and a highlight of many private boat tours in Malta. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and natural caves, this beautiful lagoon is known for its incredibly clear turquoise and deep blue water. During our stop at Crystal Lagoon, guests can swim directly from the boat, snorkel in the crystal clear water, or simply relax and enjoy the stunning scenery around the lagoon. Snorkel masks are provided on board, making it easy to explore the rocky seabed and marine life below. Crystal Lagoon is also known for its caves and rock formations, which we explore by boat when sea conditions allow. The cliffs surrounding the lagoon create calm and sheltered water, making it a perfect location for swimming during a private boat trip to Comino. Because it is less crowded than the Blue Lagoon, Crystal Lagoon often feels more relaxed while still offering some of the clearest blue water in Malta.
Santa Marija Bay – Comino Santa Marija Bay is one of the most peaceful beaches on Comino and a beautiful stop during a private boat tour in Malta. Located on the quieter side of the island, this bay is known for its soft white sand, crystal clear water, and relaxed atmosphere away from the busy areas. The bay is especially perfect for families with children because the water near the beach is shallow and calm. Guests can swim directly from the boat or go onto the beach to enjoy the sandy shoreline and gentle water. Compared to the Blue Lagoon, Santa Marija Bay is usually much less crowded, making it a great place to relax, swim, and enjoy the natural beauty of Comino during a private boat trip to Comino. The clear blue water and sandy seabed also make it a nice location for snorkelling and for families who want to enjoy a quieter swimming stop away from the crowds.
Santa Marija Tower – Comino Tower During this private boat tour in Malta we also pass by the historic Santa Marija Tower, also known as the Comino Tower, one of the most recognisable landmarks on the island. The tower sits high on the cliffs of Comino and offers a beautiful view from the sea, making it a great spot for photos during a private boat trip to Comino. This historic watchtower was built in the 17th century and stands above the famous Lovers Cave of Comino, which lies just below the cliffs. The contrast between the historic stone tower, the rugged coastline, and the crystal clear blue water makes this area a beautiful highlight while exploring Comino by private boat.
Hondoq Bay – Gozo During the longer trips, such as the 4 hour private boat tour, we may stop at Hondoq Bay, one of the most beautiful swimming spots on the southern coast of Gozo. The bay is known for its incredibly clear blue water and peaceful atmosphere, making it a great place to relax and swim during a private boat trip around Comino and Gozo. Guests can swim directly from the boat and enjoy the crystal clear water, which is also great for snorkelling. The rocky cliffs around the bay are also popular for cliff diving for those who enjoy a bit of adventure. Close to Hondoq Bay there is also a hidden spot known as Bemberin Gorge, a small and secluded cove along the coastline. This natural gorge has beautiful blue water and interesting rock formations, making it a fun place to explore by boat during the private boat tour.
Santa Marija Caves – Comino During this private boat tour in Malta we will also explore the Santa Marija Caves, one of the most impressive caves around Comino. These caves are located along the northern east coastline of the island and are known for their dramatic rock formations, narrow openings, and incredibly clear blue water. The Santa Marija Caves are made up of several sea caves that have been shaped naturally by the sea over thousands of years. Some of the caves have wide entrances that allow the boat to enter, while others form small tunnels and hidden chambers along the cliffs. Because of their location and the narrow entrances and shallow waters, some of these caves can only truly be explored during a private boat trip to Comino with experienced local skippers. The water inside the caves is extremely clear and bright blue, making the area perfect for photos, sightseeing, and enjoying the natural beauty of Comino’s coastline during a private boat tour.
Mġarr Harbour – Gozo Mġarr Harbour is one of the most beautiful ports in the Maltese islands and serves as the main gateway to Gozo. The harbour is surrounded by clear blue water and is easily recognised by the small church that sits on the hill overlooking the port, creating a very scenic view as you approach by boat. The marina is often lined with traditional Maltese boats, fishing vessels, and sailing boats, giving the harbour a very authentic Mediterranean atmosphere. Mġarr Harbour is also the main connection between Gozo and Malta, making it an important lifeline for the island. During the longer private boat tours, such as the 4 hour private boat tour, we may pass through or explore parts of the harbour with the boat. This allows guests to see the port from the sea and capture some beautiful photos of the harbour, the surrounding hills, and the colourful boats that are often anchored along the marina.
On the longer private boat tours, such as the 4 hour private boat tour, we may also explore parts of the beautiful coastline of Gozo. This island is known for its rugged cliffs, clear blue water, and many hidden swimming spots that are often much quieter than the more popular locations. During a private boat trip around Comino and Gozo we visit some of the best areas along the coast, including secluded coves and small beaches that can usually only be reached by boat. These peaceful locations are perfect for swimming and snorkelling in crystal clear water, away from the crowds. We may also explore some of the smaller islands and rock formations just off the coast of Gozo, such as Halfa Rock and other small islets that are rich in marine life. These areas are often surrounded by damselfish and other Mediterranean species, making them excellent spots for snorkelling. Exploring Gozo by private boat offers a completely different perspective of the island and its beautiful coastline.
Comino Island Comino is one of Malta’s most loved islands, famous for its crystal clear blue waters and unspoiled natural beauty. The island is very small and peaceful, with only one permanent resident, which helps preserve its unique character. Comino is also home to two of the most famous swimming locations in Malta: the Blue Lagoon and the Crystal Lagoon. Both are known for their incredibly clear turquoise water and are highlights of many private boat tours in Malta. During this private boat trip to Comino we explore the island’s beautiful coastline, including both the well-known locations and the quieter, hidden coves with clear blue water away from the crowds. Comino is also famous for its many sea caves, which we explore by boat when sea conditions allow. Along the way we normally stop at a few locations where guests can swim and snorkel in the crystal clear water, enjoying the natural beauty that makes Comino so special.
Cominotto Island During this private boat tour in Malta we may also explore Cominotto Island, a small island located just next to the famous Blue Lagoon in Comino. Cominotto can only truly be explored by private boat, as many of its best spots are only accessible from the sea. We usually anchor just off the coast near the protected natural area, where guests can swim across to the secluded beach. The water surrounding Cominotto is incredibly clear and bright blue, making it a perfect location for swimming and snorkelling during a private boat trip to Comino. The area is rich in marine life and the rocky seabed attracts many species of Mediterranean fish, making it a great spot for snorkelling. The beach itself also hides a small lagoon inside the rocks, along with a cave that opens out to the open sea. Surrounded by crystal clear blue water, Cominotto is one of the most beautiful hidden spots around Comino.
Cominotto Reef – North of Comino During this private boat tour in Malta we may also explore the beautiful Cominotto Reef, located to the north of Comino Island near Cominotto. This area is known for its crystal clear blue water and is considered one of the best locations for snorkelling during a private boat trip to Comino. The reef is rich in marine life, with many species of Mediterranean fish often seen swimming around the rocky seabed. The excellent visibility and vibrant colours of the water make this a fantastic location for snorkelling and underwater photography. It is also a great place for capturing action camera shots, and the area looks incredible in drone footage, especially with DJI drone views showing the deep blue water surrounding the reef. The surrounding cliffs are also home to several sea birds, including the Garnija. Because of the shallow reefs and rocky formations, this area is best explored with experienced and qualified local skippers.
Ċirkewwa Harbour – Departure Point Ċirkewwa Harbour is where we meet to begin your private boat tour in Malta. Here you will be welcomed on board by your skipper before we start the boat trip. Before departure, we take a few minutes to explain the route planned for the day, depending on sea conditions and the interests of the guests. Ċirkewwa is located on the northern tip of Malta and is known for its clear blue water and beautiful coastal views. The harbour area is also a well-known spot for swimming, snorkelling, and diving thanks to its excellent visibility and clean Mediterranean water. From here we start our private boat trip towards Comino, which is only a short distance away. The journey from Ċirkewwa to Comino usually takes around 10 minutes, allowing us to quickly reach the famous Blue Lagoon, Crystal Lagoon, and the caves around Comino. This makes Ċirkewwa the perfect starting point for exploring Comino by private boat.
San Niklaw Bay – Comino During this private boat tour in Malta we may also visit San Niklaw Bay, a quiet and scenic cove on the north side of Comino. This bay is known for its clear blue water and relaxed atmosphere, making it a great place to stop for swimming during a private boat trip to Comino. Compared to the busy Blue Lagoon, San Niklaw Bay is usually much more peaceful, allowing guests to enjoy the natural beauty of Comino away from the crowds. The calm, crystal clear water makes it ideal for swimming and snorkelling directly from the boat. Nearby there is also a hidden gorge along the coastline with interesting rock formations, small swim-through caves, and natural air pockets that can sometimes be explored in calm conditions. San Niklaw Bay is also home to the historic Comino Hotel, which is set to be rebuilt in 2026. The eastern side of the bay is also known for octopus, especially around sunrise and sunset.
P31 Wreck – Crystal Lagoon During this private boat tour in Malta we may also visit the famous P31 wreck, located near the Crystal Lagoon in Comino. This wreck was originally a World War II minesweeper that was later converted into a patrol boat before being intentionally scuttled to create an artificial reef. Today the wreck rests on a sandy seabed at a depth of around 12 to 18 metres, making it an excellent spot for snorkelling and free diving during a private boat trip to Comino. It is now surrounded by fish and marine life in the crystal clear blue water of the lagoon. This area is perfect for guests who enjoy snorkelling or free diving, as the wreck is clearly visible in good conditions. If you prefer to stay on board, you can still see the location from the boat and enjoy the beautiful blue water around the Crystal Lagoon. As with all stops during the private boat tour, this part of the route can be adjusted depending on the interests of the guests.
Comino Islets During this private boat tour in Malta we also explore the smaller islets around Comino. These rocky islands are surrounded by incredibly clear and deep blue water and are known for their natural caves, hidden swimming spots, and untouched coastline. Each of the Comino islets has its own character, with small caves, and beautiful areas of crystal clear water that are perfect for swimming and snorkelling during a private boat trip to Comino. The colours of the water around these islets are often some of the brightest blue in the Maltese islands. Because these locations are surrounded by shallow rocks and narrow sections, many of them can only be explored properly by boat. This makes them a special part of a Blue Lagoon private boat tour, as larger boats cannot access many of these areas. Exploring the Comino islets is a great way to discover hidden corners of the island, away from the crowds, while enjoying the clear water and dramatic coastline.
Qala Coast – Gozo On the longer trips, especially the 4 hour private boat tour, we may also explore part of the beautiful Qala coastline in Gozo. This area is much quieter than the busy locations around Comino and offers a more peaceful side of the islands. The coastline here is rugged and natural, with several hidden spots that can only be reached by boat, making the experience feel even more special. The Qala coast is also rich in marine life and is a great place for snorkelling during a private boat trip around Comino and Gozo. The rocky seabed is often home to octopus, cuttlefish, seabream, and other Mediterranean fish. In one section of the coast there is also natural clay mud found on the rocks. This mud contains natural minerals that many people believe are beneficial for the skin. Some guests enjoy applying the mud before rinsing it off in the clear blue sea, before getting back on the boat and continuing the private boat tour.
Alex Cave – Smurfs Cave (Comino) During this private boat tour in Malta we may also visit Alex Cave, also known locally as Smurfs Cave. This small but impressive cave is located on one of the Comino islets and is known for its deep blue water and the large number of damselfish that are usually swimming around the entrance. The water here is very clear and has an intense blue colour, which makes it a beautiful spot for photos and snorkelling during a private boat trip to Comino. A type of red algae grows on the rocks inside the cave, and this natural colour contrast makes the blue water appear even more vibrant. Alex Cave is also interesting because the cave continues through the rock and connects across the island underneath, which makes it a popular site for diving and free diving. It is one of the hidden natural spots that local skippers like to show during a Comino caves exploration on a private boat tour.
L-Għar ta’ Bla Saqaf – Crystal Lagoon Cave (Popeye Cave) During this private boat tour in Malta we will also visit L-Għar ta’ Bla Saqaf, a unique sea cave near the Crystal Lagoon that is also known as Popeye Cave or the Crystal Lagoon Cave. This cave is one of the most impressive natural caves around Comino. The cave is famous for its open roof, which allows sunlight to enter from above and light up the water with incredible shades of blue. The crystal clear water inside and around the cave makes it one of the best places for snorkelling during a private boat trip to Comino. It is also a fantastic location for photos, especially if you are using an action camera or underwater camera. Inside the cave there is a hidden rock formation known by local skippers as the Guardian of the Cave, so remember to ask your skipper to show it to you during your Comino caves exploration.
L-Imriek During this private boat tour in Malta we may also pass by L-Imriek, a beautiful spot just off the Blue Lagoon area in Comino. This location is well known for its incredible views and is one of the best places to capture photos of the Comino islands from the sea. From here you can often see Comino, Cominotto Island, and the smaller surrounding islets all perfectly lined up in the background. The historic Santa Marija Tower, also known as the Comino Tower, stands clearly on the island, creating a stunning natural backdrop. Right in the middle of this view you can also see the famous Blue Lagoon, with its bright turquoise water standing out against the rocky coastline. This area is perfect for photos during a private boat trip to Comino, especially when the sea is calm and the water is crystal clear. The seabed here is also known for local marine life, and it is sometimes possible to spot species such as seabream, sargi, and even octopus in the clear Mediterranean water.
Paradise Bay – Malta On the longer private boat tours we may also explore Paradise Bay, a beautiful cove located near the northern coast of Malta. This bay is known for its incredibly clear blue water, often compared to the colours of the famous Blue Lagoon. Paradise Bay is a great place to stop for a swim during a private boat tour in Malta. Guests can swim directly from the boat and enjoy the calm, crystal clear water while surrounded by the natural cliffs of the bay. Because the bay is slightly tucked away along the coastline, it creates a peaceful and scenic swimming spot. The bright turquoise water and rocky surroundings also make it a lovely location for photos during a private boat trip around Comino and the north of Malta. This stop is perfect for relaxing in the sea, enjoying the clear water, and discovering another beautiful cove during your private boat experience.
Elephant Head Rock – A unique natural rock formation on the coast of Comino that resembles the shape of an elephant’s head. The area was used as a filming location in The Count of Monte Cristo. During the tour we sail past the rock and explore three nearby sea caves, where guests can enjoy the impressive coastal scenery and crystal-clear water
