Zakopane is the capital of Polish Tatra Mountains. There is a superb scenery, perfect for winter sports lovers and fans of summer trekking trails. This area also has a characteristic dialect and splendid food. We wil show you a unique wooden architecture and sculptor's house in Chocholow village. Then we will take you to Witow village for local cheese (Oscypek) and spirits tasting. Next we will take you to Zakopane traditional marketplace to buy handmade equipment for your house, or traditional local food. Then we will take you for Gubalowka Hill Cable Car for iconic views of Tatra Mountains. Then you will enjoy some free time at Krupowki main street of Zakopane. Finally we will show you a unique wooden architecture of the region at Chapel of Jaszczurówka and Peksowy Brzyzek famous wooden cemetery (the Chapel and cemetery are optional).

The tour begins with a transfer from Krakow to Zakopane. You will be picked up by car or minivan from a central meeting point at Wielopole 2 street Kiss&Ride tourist bus stop. The ride will take around 2 hours.

2Chocholowskie Termy

3Chocholow
On the way to Zakopane, you’ll pass through the traditional wooden village of Chochołów, known for its nearly identical wooden houses. The settlers follow a long-standing tradition of washing the wooden walls with soapy water twice a year, before Christmas and Easter, which keeps even the oldest buildings looking new.

4Witow
Near Chochołów, in the mountain meadows, locals produce a traditional Polish sheep’s cheese called "Oscypek." As an optional part of your trip, you can choose to visit this place to learn about the production process, taste Oscypek cheese, and sample local fruit-based spirits.

5Gubalowka
APPLIES TO GUIDED TOUR WITH HOST OPTION. Cable car will take you to the summit of Gubałówka Mountain, which stands at 1,126 meters above sea level. From the top, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the Polish Tatra landscape. The area also features various attractions, along with restaurants and cafes where you can savor mulled wine and unwind while enjoying the mountain scenery.

OPTIONAL. APPLIES TO GUIDED TOUR WITH HOST OPTION. The Cemetery at Pęksowy Brzyzek has around 500 graves. Most of the headstones are unique works of art, crafted from wood or metal, and carved with highland motifs or painted on glass.
