When you’re in Arequipa, you can’t miss a trip to Colca Canyon (Cañon del Colca), a stunning natural wonder that’s twice as deep as the USA’s Grand Canyon. This overnight trip is a great way to get there and experience southern Peru’s beautiful highland landscapes, villages and wildlife. You’ll visit a wildlife reserve and admire colonial architecture in two highland villages; see and learn about Andean condors; walk on the base of a volcano; and, of course, enjoy spectacular views of Colca Canyon. Transport and two lunches are included in the tour price but overnight accommodation is not; please see Additional Information below for more details.

We will go to the fascinating Colca Valley. On the way we will have a spectacular panoramic view of the Chachani, Misti and Picchu Picchu volcanoes. Then we cross the area of Pampa Cañahuas where we will see vicuñas crossing the high Andean lands freely. Peculiar villages around us. Lunch. Free afternoon to rest and enjoy the hotel and the optional visit to the thermal baths in the area. Stay at Colca Valley.
Early in the morning we will go to the Condor Cross viewpoint. Before us the shocking flight of the condors, huge Andean birds on the brink of extinction and symbol of the Andes Mountain Range. The view at this place allows us to appreciate the canyons depth, considered as one of the deepest in the world. We will then visit the Maca and Yanque towns which still keep the colonial churches. We will stop for lunch on our way. At the arranged time, we will return to Arequipa.
