As we walk through the colorful streets, you'll be greeted by the intoxicating aroma of Cuban coffee and the lively sounds of salsa music in every corner. Our guide will bring you to authentic Cuban eateries, each with its own unique story and culinary specialties.
Beyond the delicious food, our food tour through Calle Ocho offers a cultural immersion. You'll learn about the history of the neighborhood, the significance of Cuban cuisine, the vibrant art of cigar rolling and enjoy the art that defines this vibrant community.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Across the street from the giant ice cream cone. Parking behind Maximo Gomez Domino Park on SW 8th Street and 15th Ave. If parking lot is full, additional metered parking can be found along SW 8th Street and at the nearby residential streets.
What to expect
We will visit Maximo Gomez Domino Park, The Cuban Memorial Blvd., a secret religious site and we’ll watch the art of cigar rolling at our favorite cigar factory. We will also pay tribute to the “Damas De Blanco” and “Amor Al Arte” murals while learning about the extraordinary stories that lead each artist to put their stamp in the neighborhood.
Starting around noon, many tourists descend into the neighborhood. If you prefer fewer crowds and more elbow room at each location, we recommend this experience that starts at 10:00 am and last 1.5 hours.
