If arriving by ship, you will need to walk along the quay and through the terminal building. The guide will be waiting for you as you exit the terminal.     On entering Mdina, view museum from the outside. It is housed in Palazzo Vilhena, a French Baroque palace rebuilt in 1726 by Grand Master Antonio Manoel de Vilhena to designs of Charles François de Mondion.

    St. John's Co-Cathedral

    Designed by Girolamo Cassar and built in 1573-78, St, John’s was the Conventual Church of the order of St. John. The Co-Cathedral hosts nine side chapels, 8 of which belonged to the various nationalities or ‘Langues’ of the order, and the ninth is dedicated to Our Lady of Filermo. There are ceiling paintings by Mattia Preti and two paintings by Caravaggio. Also in the museum are a pair of beautiful Flemish Tapestries.
