Today you will explore the stunning Callejón de Huaylas, a valley between the Blanca and Negra mountain ranges, traversed by the Santa River. You will visit the picturesque towns of Carhuaz, Mancos, and Yungay as you head towards the Blanca mountain range. You will admire the imposing peaks of the Huandoy (6,395 m) and Huascarán (6,768 m) snow-capped mountains, which frame the turquoise Llanganuco lagoons in the Huascarán National Reserve. You will walk through forests of queñual and quishuar near the Orcococha and Chinacocha lagoons (3,850 m), and then ascend to the Portachuelo de Llanganuco (4,768 m), from where you can take in the majestic glacial cirque formed by the Huandoy, Pisco, Chacraraju, Yanapaccha, Chopicallqui, and Huascarán peaks. After lunch, you will return to Huaraz after a day full of adventure and natural beauty.

    You will cross the magnificent ´Callejón de Huaylas´, a valley fed by the Santa River, located between 'Cordillera Blanca' and 'Cordillera Negra' mountain ranges. On the way, you will visit the towns of Carhuaz, Caraz and Yungay, and while ascending towards the 'Cordillera Blanca' the mountainous landscape will become increasingly spectacular.

    The Llanganuco Lagoon is located in the Huascarán National Park and is formed by two beautiful lagoons with crystalline and turquoise waters: Chinancocha (female lagoon) and Orconcocha (male lagoon). These lagoons are in a narrow valley between the Huascarán, Huandoy, Pisco and Yanapaccha peaks.
