    Asahiyama Zoo

08:00 — Depart from Sapporo Station North Exit Group Bus Stop Address: Kita 7 Nishi 3, Chuo-ku, Sapporo 10:30 — Asahikawa Asahiyama Zoo (Admission Included, approx. 110 mins, includes free time for lunch) Located in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, Asahiyama Zoo is Japan’s northernmost zoo and one of the most visited in the entire country. Who says animals hibernate all winter and zoos become dull in the cold season? In snowy weather, Asahiyama Zoo transforms into a wonderland: adorable penguins take cheerful winter walks, raccoons clumsily climb above visitors’ heads, curious seals swim up and down transparent tunnels, and monkeys huddle together for warmth. The zoo’s most distinctive feature is its “behavioral exhibition” design, allowing animals to live in semi-natural habitats while visitors can observe them up close. (Penguin Parade is held from December to March, typically at 11:00 a.m. The schedule may change depending on snow conditions and weather; viewing is not guaranteed.)
