You will see this ancient column which bears witness to the remains of the old Basilica of Sant Alessandro, demolished in 1561 to make way for the new perimeter of the Venetian Walls under construction
We will cross this monumental gate of the ancient city walls with the symbol of the Lion of San Marco above it

We walk the entire road along the perimeter of the Ancient Venetian Walls which were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017. You can get an idea of how imposing and panoramic they are.
Our tour also passes alongside the Porta San Giacomo in the Upper Town
