This is one of Iceland’s most exclusive summer experiences, operating only for a few weeks each year from Selfoss. With a maximum of just six guests per balloon, the flight feels incredibly intimate, offering a rare sense of privacy in the sky.
Unlike standard sightseeing tours, you are floating silently over South Iceland’s glaciers, rivers, and volcanic landscapes for 90 minutes, with uninterrupted 360° views in every direction. The experience is timed with the changing Icelandic light, from bright morning clarity to the golden glow of the midnight sun.

What's Included
Meeting and pickup
You’ll be collected about 1 hour before departure and driven to Selfoss launch site. After the 90-min balloon flight and champagne toast, you’ll be returned to your accommodation.

Reykjavik (Pass by)
Your driver collects you directly from your accommodation anywhere in the Capital Area approximately one hour before your scheduled flight time. The transfer to the launch site near Selfoss takes approximately 45 minutes. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the Icelandic scenery on the way. Your exact pickup time will be confirmed individually at least 24 hours in advance.

1Selfoss
After a short safety briefing from the experienced flight crew, you board the balloon for a 90-minute flight over the breathtaking South Iceland landscape. Drift above green valleys, glacial rivers, and volcanic terrain in near-total silence. Following landing, enjoy a traditional champagne toast and light refreshments with your fellow guests.

Your driver takes you back directly to your accommodation in the Capital Area. The full experience, from pickup to drop-off, takes approximately 3 hours. A perfect half-day adventure that leaves you with the rest of the day to explore.

- Three flight times are available each day: morning (9:00), afternoon (14:00), and evening (20:00). Your preferred time slot will be arranged with our team after booking.
- Pickup is available from any accommodation within the Reykjavík Capital Area
- Hot air balloon flights are weather-dependent. In the event of unsuitable conditions (high winds, heavy rain, poor visibility), the flight may be cancelled or rescheduled.
- If your flight is cancelled due to weather, you will be offered a choice: an alternative tour of your preference, a voucher for a future available date, or a full refund.
- The final decision on whether conditions are safe for flight rests with the flight crew at all times.
- This experience is not suitable for pregnant guests or guests recovering from recent surgery.
- Guests must be able to stand comfortably for the duration of the flight (approximately 90 minutes).
- Total passenger weight must not exceed 600 kg per flight.
- Minimum age: 11 years.
- Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
- Flights operate during a limited window in July and August only.
- Three flights per day: morning (9:00), afternoon (14:00), and evening (20:00).
- Maximum six guests per flight. Early booking is strongly recommended as places are strictly limited and fill quickly.
- For the meet-at-location option: please arrive at the launch site at the time confirmed by our team.
- This is a shared experience. You may fly alongside other guests unless all six places are booked by your group.
- The full experience from hotel pickup to drop-off takes approximately 3 hours
- The flight itself lasts approximately 90 minutes, depending on weather conditions.
