    Your first stop is Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates slowly drift apart. Here you can walk through the historic rift valley, enjoy beautiful views of lakes and lava fields, and learn about the site of Iceland’s ancient parliament. If conditions allow, you may also stop at Oxarafoss, a charming waterfall located within the park and surrounded by striking volcanic cliffs.
