What to expect

As Julia Roberts once said, "The concept of mahjong is to create order out of chaos based on random drawing of tiles." Now it's your turn to experience it.

Mahjong, originating from China, is commonly known as the "sparrow game" in Chinese. It is a traditional game for entertainment, invented by the Chinese people. The tiles are small, long squares made of bamboo, bone, or plastic, engraved with patterns or words. A standard Mahjong set has 136 tiles, with 4 of each pattern, totaling 34 kinds of patterns.

In this class, we will teach you how to play Mahjong on an automatic Mahjong table — a modern machine that shuffles and deals the tiles for you, so you can focus on the game itself. You will learn the meaning behind each pattern, the rules of the game, and how to play with friends and family.

We will also provide a Mahjong guidebook during the class, so you can take it home and keep practicing with friends and family after the experience.
