Your private Golden Circle with Northern lights adventure begins with pickup directly from your accommodation or preferred pickup location in Reykjavík. Meet your professional driver-guide, settle into your comfortable private vehicle, and begin your journey into Iceland’s scenic countryside.
Your first sightseeing stop is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Iceland’s most important historical and geological landmarks. Explore the dramatic rift landscape where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are gradually moving apart, while discovering the historic site of Iceland’s ancient parliament.
Make an optional stop at Efstidalur Farm, a family-run dairy farm known for its homemade ice cream made with fresh milk from the farm’s own cows. Guests can also see the cows through the farm’s viewing window. Ice cream and other purchases are not included and can be made directly at the farm.
Continue to Brúarfoss, famous for its beautiful turquoise-blue water. Enjoy a peaceful stop and a short walk to admire the waterfall and its surrounding landscape.
Explore the Geysir geothermal area, where steaming vents, bubbling pools, and colourful geothermal features showcase Iceland’s volcanic activity. Watch Strokkur erupt powerful jets of hot water into the air every few minutes.
Visit Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls. Follow the walking paths to the viewpoints and watch the Hvítá River cascade through two dramatic stages into a deep canyon.
Enjoy an optional stop at Brú Horse Farm, where you can meet Icelandic horses up close, take photographs, and purchase horse treats to feed them. This stop depends on available time, weather conditions, and access to the farm. Treats are not included.
Make an optional visit to Friðheimar, a geothermal greenhouse farm where tomatoes are grown throughout the year. Guests may explore the greenhouse or enjoy food and drinks surrounded by the tomato plants. Reservations may be required, and food, drinks, and activities are not included unless specifically added to the booking.
Visit Kerið, a colourful volcanic crater with striking red slopes surrounding a deep blue-green crater lake. Enjoy views from the crater rim or follow the path closer to the lake. Entrance is included only when stated in the selected booking option.
After completing the Golden Circle, return to Reykjavík and drop off at your accommodation. You will have approximately 2–3 hours to relax, have dinner, and prepare for the evening portion of your private tour. Your driver-guide will return to your accommodation at the agreed evening pickup time and begin the second part of your experience: a private Northern Lights hunt. Leave Reykjavík’s city lights behind and search for the Northern Lights in Iceland’s countryside. Your driver-guide monitors cloud cover, weather forecasts, road conditions, and aurora activity to select the most promising locations. The route is flexible and may take you toward mountains, lava fields, coastlines, or quiet countryside areas depending on the conditions. As this is a private experience, the route can be adjusted throughout the evening in response to changing weather and aurora conditions.
After the Northern Lights hunt, relax in your private vehicle as your driver-guide takes you back to your accommodation or preferred drop-off location in Reykjavík, concluding your Golden Circle and Northern Lights private combo experience.
