We’ll then continue to the tasting session, where you’ll discover the main stages of olive oil production and master the official tasting technique used by professionals.
You’ll learn how to distinguish extra virgin from virgin olive oil and the best way to store it at home.
Taste three distinct extra virgin olive oils, each representing a different variety and region of Greece.

We’ll meet at the Statue of Theseus in Thissio Square. Then, we’ll walk toward the Keramikos neighborhood, exploring its history, vibrant street art, and the rhythm of modern Greek life before reaching the restaurant for the tasting.

What to expect

Your journey begins at the Theseus Statue in Thissio Square, beneath the gaze of the Acropolis. Here, you’ll learn about the story behind Athens’ name, and its deep connection to the olive tree.

As you walk, you’ll encounter olive trees and discover the life cycle of the olive tree, from pruning and blossoming to harvesting.

The experience then moves from ancient Greece to modern Athens as you stroll toward the Keramikos neighborhood, an area once known for its pottery workshops, now famous for its creative energy and street art.

The walk concludes at Meigma Restaurant, where the olive oil tasting begins. Guided by a certified Olive Oil Sommelier, guests will:
- Learn about the main stages of olive oil production
- Master the official olive oil tasting technique
- Understand the difference between extra virgin and virgin olive oil
- Discover how to store olive oil properly at home
